Tracker 5 Browser Bridge Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 12, 2026
Tracker 5 Browser Bridge is a browser extension used with the Tracker 5 Desktop application for authorized workforce monitoring. The extension helps Tracker 5 record the active browser tab title and URL during a user's work session so that app and website activity can be shown in Tracker 5 activity reports.
Information We Collect
The extension may collect the following information from the active browser tab:
- Page URL
- Page title
- Browser name
- Tab and window identifiers used by the browser
- Timestamp when the active tab information is sent
Tracker 5 may associate this browser activity with the signed-in employee or user account in the Tracker 5 Desktop application. The extension does not collect passwords, authentication tokens, payment card details, health information, precise location, or the body content of web pages, emails, chats, or documents.
How We Use Information
We use the collected information to:
- Record active browser website usage during authorized work sessions
- Display app and website activity in Tracker 5 dashboards and reports
- Categorize work-session activity for productivity, communication, development, or other configured reporting categories
- Support compliance, attendance, workforce management, and operational review by the organization using Tracker 5
How Information Is Shared
The extension sends active tab information only to the locally running Tracker 5 Desktop application on the same computer, using the local endpoint configured in the extension settings. The Tracker 5 Desktop application may then upload activity records to the organization's Tracker 5 backend services for reporting and administrative review.
Activity data may be available to authorized administrators, managers, or other personnel designated by the organization using Tracker 5. We do not sell browser activity data.
Data Storage
The extension stores only its desktop bridge endpoint setting in browser extension storage. Browser activity records are handled by the Tracker 5 Desktop application and Tracker 5 backend systems according to the organization's Tracker 5 configuration and retention practices.
Remote Code
The extension does not load or execute remote code. All extension code is packaged with the extension. Network requests are used only to send JSON activity data to the local Tracker 5 Desktop bridge endpoint configured by the user or organization.
User Controls
Users or administrators can disable browser URL tracking by removing or disabling the extension, changing browser extension policies, or disabling app tracking in Tracker 5 administrative settings where available.
Security
The extension communicates with the Tracker 5 Desktop application through a local loopback endpoint on the user's computer. Tracker 5 backend communications are handled by the Tracker 5 Desktop application and related services.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy when the extension, Tracker 5 Desktop application, or related services change. The updated policy will be posted at this page with a revised last updated date.
